  1. I WAS SO SURE Mark Ruffalo won for Spotlight, because I remember thinking, to be honest, that’s a little odd. So I don’t know what happened there. But anyway, one of the big Oscar movies we didn’t even mention was The Revenant. Even though that is often seen as a stereotypical Oscar movie, and everyone liked it, I kind of feel like it was a bit run down by being elevated in that way. Had it passed by without Oscar notice, it really would’ve been Ravenous 2, an absolutely beloved cult movie. That’s my Revenant theory
